Geopros, Inc. is looking for a Geochemist for one of our clients supporting the mining and exploration consultancy industry. This role is a Hybrid in Reno, NV. area and the perfect candidate will be collaborating with professionals that focus primarily on geochemical studies related to the mining industry. In addition, this role works within a team of technical specialists to develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions for a diverse set of global projects and clients.
Compensation: $ 70K – 80K DOE, Plus Benefits
Job Overview
The Geochemist will perform analysis of large geochemical datasets and critical interpretation of geochemical data about mining environments and produce high-quality technical reports that effectively communicate detailed geochemical data.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Assist with mine site water quality predictions using geochemical modeling software.
• Ability to undertake fieldwork on mine sites including but limited to, mapping, sampling of mine waste, soil, and water, and where needed field test applications.
• Perform administrative tasks, including organizing project meetings and documentation and implementing procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in geology or geochemistry.
• 2 years of professional experience in environmental geochemistry and/or hydrogeochemistry.
• Solid knowledge of geochemistry, geology, mineralogy; and the Great Basin mineral deposits.
• Experience in the analysis of large geochemical datasets, including quality control, data interpretation, and reporting.
• Working knowledge of mining-related environmental issues, regulations, and policies.
• Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint with specific expertise in Excel and Geochemical modeling software: PHREEQC, MINTEQA2, and Geochemist`s Workbench.
