The Fund Accountant will be responsible for performing accounting duties, reporting, fund operations, audit and tax related tasks associated with administering investment products investing primarily in debt instruments (eg. Mezzanine Debt Funds, CLOs, Private Credit SMAs, Levered Vehicles, Rated Vehicles).

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Recording/Review of all financial transactions on a US GAAP basis for multiple entities across various investment structures/portfolios
  • Cash management and bank account reconciliation
  • Calculation of capital calls, distributions, management fees, income and expense accruals, amortization schedules and hypothetical dissolution adjustments (where applicable)
  • Allocation of portfolio proceeds/income in accordance with the terms of governing legal agreements
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Completion of periodic close process
  • Preparation of periodic financial statements and investor reporting for each entity
  • Preparation of workpapers and any additional information in connection with annual audits
  • Assist with any regulatory and tax filings
  • Assist in providing information required to address investor requests and internal ad hoc requests
  • Maintenance of detailed data relating to investments, investors and fund entities as required for internal and external reporting
  • Interact with various groups within the organization to obtain, provide and reconcile information
  • Coordinate/review work performed by co-sourcing and/or external fund administrator (if applicable)
  • Participation in special projects to enhance accounting, operations and reporting processes

Qualifications:

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting and audit process, debt/loan accounting and related calculations in accordance with US GAAP
  • Ability to understand and navigate pertinent legal documents for fund structures and debt securities
  • Knowledge of relevant tax concepts
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • Ability to utilize Investran preferred
  • Knowledge of Wall Street Office preferred
  • Strong desire and ability to leverage technology
  • Robust analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and client service skills
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast- paced environment and shift priorities as necessary

Salary range: $125,000 – $140,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt
