Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Designer to work alongside design and product for the development and execution of our FW24 collection. This person will collaborate with the team to develop fit from the initial prototypes through production by working from initial design sketch, developing detailed technical fit packages, and graded specs. The ability to clearly and concisely communicate through technical sketches and garment specifications is a must. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, self motivated, flexible, and has a strong critical eye.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design to understand fit intent and create tech packs for development.
- Critique samples before a fit session ensuring all set requirements have been met. Come prepared to fittings with all related information from the previous fitting, i.e. fit comments, sample, etc.
- Evaluate garment to determine compliance of specs, construction, quality and fit intent.
- Participate in fit sessions, construction and fit approval, document all changes, and communicate them clearly to the factory.
- Use knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise while upholding vendor and cross functional relationships.
- Identify potential production and quality issues and make recommendations to ensure brand and design integrity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design or related field of study.
- 4+ years’ experience as a Technical Designer. Knowledge of garment construction, fitting, and grading is a must.
- Experience in Women’s RTW/Outerwear is a must. Accessories and knitwear are a plus.
- Computer Skills- Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
- Can proactively solve problems and effectively manage multiple challenges.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
