Department Summary
The Division of Student Life supports the university’s academic mission through comprehensive programs and services that promote and advance student learning and success while fostering an inclusive and vibrant campus community. Student Life houses four departments, the University Career Center, Office of the Dean of Students, Erb Memorial Union, and Physical Education & Recreation, plus a number of key programs, including the Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement, Parent and Family Programs, major student events (Commencement, Homecoming, University Day), Student Government Engagement & Success, Student Conduct and Community Standards, and Support for students in crisis and students of concern.

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority serves a vital role in providing support and educational opportunities for the Fraternity & Sorority community. This position advises, coordinates, and promotes social Greek letter organizations and related programs, and creates and implements programming to support academic and leadership development for the University’s diverse and dynamic fraternity and sorority community. The coordinator serves as the primary advisor for one or more governing councils and assists with formal fall recruitment. This position is responsible for managing student development and leadership education and providing direction in policy interpretation and implementation.
The Program Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life be a part of a team that works closely with faculty/staff, advisors of fraternities and sororities, as well as inter/national membership organizations for the betterment of the Fraternity and Sorority community. The successful candidate will be an innovative, collaborative, student-centered professional who is able to maintain partnerships throughout the University as well as work with a variety of constituents in a fast-paced environment.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life and is not eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years relevant coursework as a graduate student, or equivalent experience with student leadership development in a Student Affairs office with direct experience with fraternities and sororities.
• Professional experience with a fraternity/sorority headquarters or in a role working with fraternities and sororities on a college campus or in a comparable college unit.
• Experience advocating for and/or advising students.
• Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Professional Competencies
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to deal with crises and manage sensitive information.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to utilize problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to advise/supervise students involved in leadership positions in fraternities and/or sororities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in higher education administration/college student personnel, counseling, or related field of student advising.
• Knowledge of critical issues impacting fraternity and sorority life in a university setting.
• An understanding of student development theory and current best practices (student advising, student advocacy, and student leadership development).
• Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating training for students.
• Experience writing reports and program promotional publications.
• Computer proficiency related to program promotion, marketing materials, and use of modern technology.
• Experience developing a curriculum related to fraternity and sorority new member education and programs.
• Experience in supervision or advising undergraduate students.
