Description

As a Program Manager of Education and Training at FamilyForward, you will improve the quality of life for children in need by managing the development, delivery, and evaluation of all phases of the services offered through the agency’s Education and Training Program and in accordance with the policies and procedures of FamilyForward and approved by the Board of Directors.

What to expect on a given day as an Education and Training Program Manager:

  • You will provide foster and/or adoptive home assessments for clients interested in becoming approved by the Children’s Division for foster care or adoption.
  • You will lead support groups and discussion groups for foster and adoptive parents, adoptive-parents-to-be and foster and adopted children.
  • You’ll provide support services to trainers who lead lectures and interactive classroom discussions with families preparing to foster and/or adopt a child using the STARS and Commitment to Adoption Curriculum
  • You will participate in community education forums that focus on adoption, foster care, bonding, and attachment.
  • You will participate with other staff in the overall development and evaluation of the program.
  • You’ll assist in the revision of existing policies and procedures when needed
  • You will assist with the development of new agency programs/curriculums to meet community needs.
  • You’ll oversee development of quarterly newsletter
  • You’ll open and maintain current records on all clients in accordance with agency policies and procedures for treatment.
  • You will represent the agency in the community by participating in inter-agency functions and other community social services functions.
  • You will continue to develop professional knowledge and skills by attending in-service training sessions and relevant conferences in the community, and by becoming familiar with current professional publications.
  • As with all positions this is not an all-inclusive list of duties or projects that you will be asked to perform.

You would be a good fit for this position if you:

  • Have a masters degree in social work or a related field; or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in child welfare.
  • Have a minimum of 2-years of experience in the foster care and/or adoption field or other child welfare area.
  • Are able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check and drive to homes and training locations in and around a 50+ mile radius of the office.
  • Licensure in social services is preferred.
  • You are eligible to train the STARS and Commitment to Adoption curricula.
  • You have the eligibility to provide in-service training as recognized by the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division is preferred.
  • A foster/adoptive parent with the ability to be a trainer and/or co-trainer for the delivery of STARS curriculum is preferred.

Salary Expectations:
Dependent on experience and education, starting salary range is $55,000 – $60,000.
