The Space Software Product Line (SSPL) is seeking a Project Lead to join the team. SSPL supports over 30 programs across all 5 LM Space Lines of Business, advancing software products through Software Factory standards and flexible software architectures. We are at the forefront of building software that supports customer missions in a smarter, more efficient way. Our Project Leads are critical to this goal, coordinating and leading one or more Agile product teams to develop embedded flight software that satisfies mission needs while meeting cost and schedule targets.
We are seeking a Project Lead to perform outward stakeholder relationship management and reporting, internal Agile team leadership and product shaping, and project management responsibilities.
An ideal candidate for this role will:
– Lead a software team through the system development lifecycle, including requirements, design, architecture, integration and test, as well as program milestones such as SRR, PDR, CDR.
– Coordinate agile teams and effectively facilitate the scope and priority of software product capabilities
– Understand and translate higher-level requirements and needs into software development targets and tasks
– Manage cost and schedule for a software-centric project
– Communicate and partner with stakeholders including customers and senior key team members to cultivate mission success

Basic Qualifications:
– Degree in Systems, Software or related aerospace/defense field, or related experience
– Previous technical leadership experience, including schedule and budget responsibility
– Experience with Agile methods, processes and practices
Desired Skills:
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills with previous experience presenting to customers and/or management
– Previous embedded, aerospace, or spacecraft flight software leadership and/or development experience
– Previous experience as a technical lead for software teams or agile teams
– Familiarity with Earned Value Management
– Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
– Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Agility
– Previous project management experience
– Ability to obtain DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $82,200 – $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
