Description
The Warehouse/ Fleet Maintenance Worker shall be responsible to the Vice President for Operations & Special Projects. The duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse/ Fleet Maintenance Worker shall be, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, parts, tools and equipment; may assist with entering data into inventory records using a computer; ensures all materials are properly tagged and stored; participates in the ordering of parts for stock; works with vendors to obtain bid quotes for major repairs; researches and obtains auto parts as needed and may pickup parts from auto parts or dealerships as needed; unloads large shipments at designated areas using appropriate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack and office machines; makes deliveries to and from town as required; maintains warehouse and motor pool areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Performs required Shipping and Receiving/Department Clerk duties in his/her absence and as necessary; assists with construction projects ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are available.
  • Services and maintains vehicles and equipment to ensure that equipment is mechanically sound, is available upon request, and meets all state and federal safety guidelines by changing oil; lubricating mechanical parts; making tire repairs and changes; washing cars/trucks/vans/other; tightening belts as needed; testing, recharging, and replacing batteries; making minor emergency adjustments; replacing accessories; keeping records of services performed; checking and testing safety features on a regular basis; making repairs to safety equipment.
  • Reports and/or consults with supervisor regarding any needed repairs so that repairs are promptly completed and equipment is in good operating condition by checking for oil leaks; checking exhaust systems for malfunction; checking wheel alignment, etc.; maintains a variety of usage logs; assigns vehicles to employee for travel and prepares vehicles for trips and ensures all are operable and carry up to date insurance and registration information.
  • May serve on various campus committees as assigned. 6) Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience in auto repair preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification. ASE Auto Repair certification.
  • Valid New Mexico or Texas driver’s license and CDL licensure a plus.

Additional Information
This is a twelve-month non-exempt position. Standard benefits apply. The full pay range for this position is $19.69 to $28.68
