Project Scheduler

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking to hire a Project Scheduler to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property.
• Coordinates the efforts of the estimating staff in support of the Project Manager and is accountable for the overall outcome of the estimates and project schedules for project proposals
• Prepares and maintains detailed engineering and construction schedules including development of critical path and project float
• Monitors hours and costs to determine trends and to assist in forecasting
• Evaluates scope changes, cost trends, additional work orders and other elements.
• Assembles and analyzes project information and prepares understandable documents which serve as a tool to eliminate design discrepancies and problems, while improving the efficient planning and scheduling of projects
• Monitors projects in accordance to set schedules through use of analytical reports
• Applies standard planning / scheduling techniques and methods and may involve substantial evaluation, analysis, and modification of such standards in problem-solving efforts

Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of related experience or masters degree and 6+ years of experience or PhD and 3+ years of experience
• A minimum of two years’ experience as a project scheduler in a related NOAA contracts
• Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software such as MS Projects
• Extensive experience in schedule planning and management
• In-depth knowledge of the scope of projects within DOC/NOAA
• Advanced ability to evaluate project progress and facilitate interventions
• Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
