What You’ll Do

As a Product Owner supporting our Retirement Income and Solutions (RIS) Product space, you’ll have the opportunity to take lead on initiatives and results of our strategic vision and processes within the investment space. Collaborating with leaders and clients in representing product direction and customer needs! In this role you will:

  • Tell the story of the problems that need to be solved, focus on describing value proposition and capability outcomes. Working to validate how solutions build towards those outcomes meet the clients needs.
  • Build strong partnerships with Clients, Product Managers and Leaders to engage them to helping overcome barriers.
  • Take ownership for prioritizing and using criteria that is defined by business and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for backlog refinement and preparation of planned releases which includes backlog grooming, and ensuring the backlog represents priorities of the business are adequately represented.
  • Make decisions to enable the team to deliver quickly. Be comfortable not having all of the answers. Make small bets and embrace experimentation. Break down stories to enable small, frequent iterations versus big bang deliveries. Keep lines of communication open with stakeholders so their needs are represented, and they understand what is being delivered along the way. Serves as a subject matter expert in working with more advanced/complex portfolios.
  • Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be open-minded and approachable. Influence, lead and collaborate well with all partners. Gather feedback from delivered work and share with the team. Demonstrate influence on the product strategy and direction.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, plus 8+ years related experience.
  • Experience with leading client interaction, planning and delivery within investments industry.
  • Excellent communication skills required including the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Solid strategic thinking, collaboration and decision-making skills required.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$95200 – $182400 / year

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
