Overview
The Executive Kitchen Steward is responsible for overseeing non-food production areas within the kitchen such as dishwashing and storage areas. The Executive Kitchen Steward will ensure that all kitchen steward staff properly clean and handle all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes, as well as properly stock supplies, receive orders, and maintain inventory.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.

About the Venue
The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach
Responsibilities
- Ensures cleanliness standards for all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are met
- Ensures highest sanitation levels for all items previously used so that they may be used again in clean condition, free of any contamination risk.
- Ensure that all kitchen areas are clean and organized, including floors, walls and counter tops.
- Works closely with the Head Chef, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef to understand, coordinate, and plan daily needs with agility and flexibility
- Inspects kitchens and storage rooms to ensure that premises and equipment are clean and fully stocked, including floors, walls and counter tops.
- Ensure all kitchen stewards have and use the proper equipment necessary for the job (gloves, goggles, chemicals)
- Stock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning and sanitation products.
- Assist in food preparation and plating, as needed.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment at all times.
- Responsible for supervising all Stewarding staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
- Follow and oversee that all food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines are being met at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to life and move heavy objects, such as boxes and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
