We are looking for an experienced Application Development Manager with experience in Tax Withholding & Reclaims to lead an engineering organization whose mission will be to:
• Define and architect a target state for our corporate actions and tax processing functions.
• Modernize our corporate actions systems, replacing legacy technology with a modern distributed product/platform that is event-driven and will handle the scale of the bank’s books and records.
• Deliver a modular, service-based platform that can be leveraged across the entire bank.
• Build an ecosystem to manage all data flow in and out of the corporate actions system(s) and aligning to the Custody Modernization program including use of pub/sub messaging patterns, canonical data models, and data quality standards.
• Expand coverage of the strategic corporate action system to handle various product areas within the bank including Accounting, Middle Office, Alternatives, and others.
• Work directly with Product, Operations, Subject Matter Experts, and Technology partners to ensure consistent solutions and processes.
• Increase client satisfaction with this critical element of our Asset Servicing business.
To be successful in these roles, we’re seeking the following:
• Experienced leader with deep knowledge of corporate actions processing, including impact on trade processing, position keeping, and cash management
• Passionate technologist with strong application design and delivery skillset
• Highly collaborative individual who has the ability to influence people, solve problems as part of a group, voice their opinion, and is open to challenging the status quo
• Flexible and independent team player who is able to leave their comfort zone and thinks creatively
• Inquisitive and analytically minded engineer who can articulate complex technical problems in a concise and clear manner
Technical experience:
• Strong knowledge of building rules-based and configuration-driven applications
• Good understand of conceptual, logical and physical data modeling
• Proficiency with modern architecture patterns, pub/sub messaging pattern, service-oriented processing, and REST API’s
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Minimum 15 years experience in an enterprise managing a technology organization

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $350,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
