The chancellor is the chief executive officer of the University of Denver and exercises broad responsibilities for all aspects of the operation of the University. The chancellor reports to the board of trustees.

Position Summary:
Working in the Office of the Chancellor, this position provides administrative support to the Chancellor and works to ensure the Chancellor’s daily workflow is efficient and effective. This role will be responsible for: 1) anticipating, managing, prioritizing and facilitating the Chancellor’s calendar, schedule and workflow; 2) facilitating responsive, clear and professional communications on behalf of the Chancellor and/or Chief of Staff,
3) ensuring the Chancellor is prepared for all meetings/engagements and has all necessary materials; 4) responsible for all travel arrangements and managing of expense reports.
The Executive Assistant to the Chancellor must take a team approach in anticipating the varied needs of a busy and engaged chancellor and ensure the office is flexible as schedules and other circumstances change frequently. This position will report to the Chief of Staff.
Essential Functions:
- Provide administrative support to the Chancellor by managing the calendar and scheduling meetings, answering emails, and coordinating with the Chief of Staff and Cabinet to ensure the Chancellor is prepared for all engagements.
- Coordinates details of the chancellor’s daily calendar including speaking and travel schedules. Responsible for booking of all Chancellor travel, working closely with University Advancement and the Chief of Staff on details.
- Reviews and organizes the chancellor’s mail; prepares correspondence, reports and documents as authorized by the chancellor.
- Anticipates and addresses needs of the chancellor (i.e., meeting topics and agendas, gathering all relevant materials such as briefings and materials). Provide research assistance as needed.
- Creates and/or edits templates and provides PowerPoint presentations for chancellor reports, meetings and presentations.
- Prepares and proofreads correspondence and other documents for the chancellor. Develops “ready for approval” drafts.
- Prepares ad hoc reports upon request.
- Tracks the Chancellor’s speaking engagements and works with the Executive Writer and Communications Manager to track upcoming events and speeches to ensure the Chancellor has prepared and has timely materials.
- Works toward creating a paperless office.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a focus applicable to this position or equivalent professional experience
- 5 years of progressive professional experience
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
- Experience serving in a higher education environment
Working Environment
1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Schedule
Normal hours are typically 8:30 – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Some evenings and occasional weekend hours are required.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 12.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
