Event Marketing Manager (Guild Title: Seminar Program Administrator)

Position Overview: As the Event Marketing Manager (Seminar Program Administrator), you’ll provide meeting expertise and direction, working with select S&P Ratings internal stakeholders on their client-facing event marketing initiatives. Your job will interface closely with other event marketers, creative, compliance, and other functional teams to create and execute successful S&P Ratings’ events in the financial sector.

The Impact: S&P Global Ratings Event Marketing team manages over 600 virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, and 3rd Party events each year, varying in size from 30 – 600 people and scope of half- one-to-three-day meetings. You will be looked to for your expertise in the meetings industry to direct stakeholders on strategy around, target dates, locations, logistics, communications, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Stakeholder Strategic Partner: You will lead the collaborative event discussions with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach and Marketing colleagues for your target sectors.
• Meeting Specifications: All meeting logistics to include but not limited to communicating meeting needs to vendors, registration, on-site execution and creating on-site staff responsibilities, registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support pre and post event evaluations room set up and monitoring, food & beverage requirements, collecting Audio-Visual specifications.
• Manage event budgets and negotiate the best value for Ratings across all events
• Track, manage events calendar, pipeline, and budget tracker
• Communication: Pre and post conference meetings with clients. All correspondence with internal and external guest speakers. Review and contribute to all communication to meeting invitees. Provide project parameters for completion of support assignments. Conduct pre-conference and post-conference meetings with hoteliers.
• Sourcing: Meetings/events/receptions with hoteliers, food service directors, restaurants, ground operators, décor & entertainment companies, promotional items, AV & Production companies.
• Contracts: Review contracts with notes for the Director, Events Marketing who will negotiate and contract all vendors (hotel, restaurant, AV, etc.). Provide outline and explanation to host of all contractual items including any potential cancellations.
• Helps craft communications for email campaigns, as well as write and review marketing materials, etc.
• Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations

Required:
• Five+ years of progressive experience in meeting/event planning exhibiting the ability to successfully manage the Meeting Planner responsibilities listed above.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Must be able to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment
• Proven administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Highly organized, has a high sense of urgency, and very customer service oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel)

Location: New York, NY
• This is a hybrid job with 1-2 days in office (55 Water Street NYC) subject to event schedule
• Primary event execution will be in NYC
• Some Travel (10-20%) required
• Some overtime and weekend work are occasionally needed

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $49,400USD to $98,200USD. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and experience.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
