What You’ve Accomplished

You have completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology plus a minimum of 0-2 years of engineering experience. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 year engineering degree. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology. You may have also acquired the following skills:

  • Previous internship/co-op or work experience in product design and/or nuclear energy
  • Experience with managing design changes and developing new designs
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101
  • Experience with CAD software such as Creo (Pro/E), CATIA, or Solidworks
  • Experience working under the quality and safety standards of the nuclear industry
  • Ability to lead projects and drive tasks to completion in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (oral / presentation / written), and the ability to effectively communicate among diverse groups within the company and with customers
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly, listen actively, and foster open lines of communication
  • French or German language skills

Your Opportunity

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a BWR Fuel Design Engineer, you will be part of a team which maintains the bill of materials and associated technical design definition documents for BWR fuel assemblies, fuel channels, and shipping containers. You will work closely with various teams and external vendors to manage design changes and facilitate the delivery of fuel products to customers. You will also work on the development and qualification of new component and bundle designs, as well as provide resolution of issues to support manufacturing and customer needs. This opportunity is located in Richland, Washington.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $67,000 – $87,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
