Description

Position Location and Department:

  • This position is part of our Early Care & Education department.
  • This position will work at our Children’s Campus of Kansas City/Wyandotte County office located at 444 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS 66101.

Summary of Position

The Program Manager will oversee multiple Early Care and Education Initiatives. These initiatives include but are not limited to The Classroom Assessment and Scoring System Institute (CLASS), Start Young coaching, and teacher credentials offered by The Family Conservancy. The manager will be responsible for supervision of staff, overall project oversight, coordinating meetings with community partners, staff and reporting.

Salary Range:

$53,000 – $74,000

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Assigns caseloads
  • Supports the team in executing recruitment, registration, and agendas for project meetings.
  • Checks in with direct reports on a consistent basis.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the team.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Observe staff in the field, attend training and coaching sessions as needed for support.
  • Will be responsible for budgetary oversight as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that deliverables are being met on each initiative.
  • Collects and analyzes data and compiles for performance measurement
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of ECE at TFC to evaluate programming.
  • Reviews all purchases and approves as budgets allow
  • Attends community meetings
  • Provide training and/or coaching to early care and education providers as needed.
  • Researches, develops, and organizes new ideas for implementation as progress is assessed and needs change within our community and field.
  • Assesses staff needs for additional professional development and connects them to needed resources.
  • Serve on the Systems committee on the ECE team.
  • Attend TFC meetings, as assigned by the ECE director.
  • Establish relationships with TFC staff to collaborate and utilize existing resources that will strengthen department initiatives.
  • Ensure effective team communication using email, team meetings, and other communication
  • methods.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. If Bachelor’s is in a related field, Master’s degree must be in Early Childhood Education.
  • At least five years related experience. Bilingual fluency in written and oral English/Spanish preferred.
  • Master’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
