Overview

The Coordinator, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) will assist in implementing and advancing Oak View Group’s (OVG) DE&I strategy. Reporting to the XX and partnering with our senior leadership team, and field leaders, this role will provide direct support in our diversity recruiting efforts, culture and inclusion initiatives, education and awareness programs and employee resource group development activities. The ideal candidate will solve problems creatively, possess a collaborative mindset, navigate ambiguity, build solid relationships across multiple teams and execute effectively.

This role will pay a salary of $28.84 to $38.46.

About the Venue

McCormick Place located in downtown Chicago is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America., With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space, the campus proudly hosts some of the world’s largest and most prestigious conventions, meetings, and trade shows, welcoming approximately 3 million visitors to Chicago every year.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively assist in the planning and implementation of company-wide, global DE&I initiatives that drive employee engagement and inclusion.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of DEI in designing and integrating the DE&I business processes in the full employee lifecycle (e.g. onboarding, hiring, performance management, learning & leadership development, employee engagement, succession planning, etc. initiatives).
  • Research diversity, equity, and inclusion industry trends to identify and implement best practices.
  • Provide logistical support to support the OVG’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to positively impact the business and team member retention through effective leadership, engagement, programming and management.
  • Request, gather and compile reports and analyze trends to support success of DE&I programs and trainings.
  • Create, update, and maintain DE&I communications, campaigns, and events. Partners with internal communications team to regularly communicate internal and external diversity and inclusion initiatives, events and progress.
  • Assist in creating McCormick Place DE&I Committee as part of OVG’s DE&I Council structure
  • Manages OVG’s Supplier Diversity program which includes managing portal/database, share inbox, conducting frequent audits to maintain data accuracy in reporting (e.g. of recognized categories of diverse suppliers), and coordinating with venue managers and department heads to identify new sourcing opportunities
  • Track, analyze, and report venue participation in OVG’s DE&I Training Program to senior leadership
  • Support and promote all other DE&I programs and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in DE&I or related field
  • Adaptable and innovative in design and execution of programs, processes and solutions
  • Is passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Strong interpersonal skills with outstanding oral and written communications
  • Must be proactive, innovative, organized and disciplined
  • Ability to manage in the “grey”
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at once and prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems under pressure
  • Analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution
  • Able to work cross-functionally to advance the DE&I goals and ensure alignment with the company’s strategy
