Overview
The Dishwasher/Utility Worker serves a variety of essential back of the house and front of house Food & Beverage roles which include working as a dishwasher, food runner, deep cleaning the kitchen and all equipment along with other miscellaneous duties. Dishwasher/Utility Workers are required to maintain a safe sanitary work environment. Dishwasher/Utility Workers are also required to gain an extensive knowledge of the proper use and cleaning techniques for kitchen equipment including but not limited to steamers, ovens, mixers, grills, and dish washing equipment.
This is a part-time position and requires the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary: $13.50 per hour

About the Venue
Located in Downtown Grand Junction, CO at the recently renovated Grand Junction Convention Center which also services the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park and the Historic Avalon Theatre. This position will primarily work at the Grand Junction Convention Center.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a clean, safe and pleasant atmosphere is maintained in the kitchen always.
- Perform any opening and closing side work as required
- Maintain storerooms and refrigerators and ensure they are kept clean
- Ensure that food safety guidelines and company food quality standards are adhered to
- Complete time and temperature control logs daily for HACCP compliance
- Maintain positive attitude in high stress situations
- Operate dish washing machine – set-up, load, run and remove clean dishes once process is complete
- Maintain dish washing machine cleanliness – ensure filters are frequently cleaned
- Place clean dishes on correct shelves ready to be used again
- Manually hand wash and scrub pots to ensure they are thoroughly cleaned
- Keep all kitchen floors swept and mopped always
- Empty all trash cans and keep trash dumpster areas clean
- Report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions and practices to manager immediately
- Assist with any FOH needs
- Report to work in proper uniform
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Supervisor(s) of Grand Junction Convention Center and Avalon Theatre.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently and finish tasks in a timely manor
- Able to effectively follow written instructions for detailed kitchen production.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skills.
- Must be able to accurately carry out instructions
- Must be able to do repetitive tasks
- An attention to detail focus is vital to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy object of at least 50 lbs.
Minimum Requirements
- Some Kitchen Experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience providing excellent and quality customer service to a diverse base of users
