Across our Retail, Parks & Recreation business you will be responsible for the highly visible and cross-functional leadership of some of our most spotlighted brand partnerships including admired, experiential destinations like Disney and premium retailers such as Macy’s and Target.
The Business Development team works directly with strategic business partners (licensees) to grow and enhance the Starbucks brand. The team is known for thought leadership and cross-functional collaboration that address unique market opportunities. LS Business development partners (employees) operate as general managers and have ownership of strategic partnership strategy, business development, negotiations, relationship management, technology implementation, and program adoption.
This leader will create strategies and execute plans that drive long term partnerships that position Starbucks as the trusted expert and enhance the Starbucks Brand and Experience. The director of national accounts must be able to lead and develop a team of direct reports who are leaders of others and influence cross functional disciplines within the broader organization. A deep knowledge of licensed stores (franchising) and the retail foodservice industry along with a proven track record of general management, innovative program development, business planning and the delivery of strong relationships and results are paramount to this role.

- Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together
- Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results
- Generate, manage, and execute complex partnership contracts and activities
- Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams
We’d love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA) preferred
• Direct B2B sales and strategic account management with key external partnerships at Fortune 500, premium/luxury brands, and/or food & beverage companies (15+ years)
• General management: application of multi-disciplinary business practices (e.g. marketing, strategy, finance, store development, operations) (15+ years)
• Direct experience negotiating complex agreements and contracts with executives (10+ years)
• Team leadership and people development (10+ years)
• Negotiating complex agreements and contracts (10+ years)
• Enterprise leadership at executive and top management levels (10+ years)
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving capabilitie
• Extraordinary ability to build relationships cross functionally with both internal and external team
• Ability to adapt strategies and plans, and thrive in an ambiguous environment
• Ability to influence leaders in significant investment decisions and change management
