New York Life’s Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) department enables over 12,000 financial professionals to address accumulation goals of their clients through Eagle Strategies (Advisory Business) and NYLIFE Securities (Brokerage Business). WMS is rapidly expanding its offerings as a strategic growth business for NYL.
Your role:
As the WMS Digital Business Analyst, you will deliver insights to support key decisions related to Wealth Management digital experiences. In this function, you will lead metric development and tracking to assess digital adoption and identify opportunities for improvement. You will also support the Head of Digital in cross-functional processes including annual budgeting and planning.
This role reports to the Head of WMS Digital and will work often with colleagues across the WMS Strategy and Digital team, Eagle, and NYL Securities. You will also have exposure to internal and external digital experience partners
Key Responsibilities
- You will create and socialize key insights about client and advisor usage of digital capabilities for stakeholders including data insights, implications, and recommendations
- You will help develop and deliver key digital metrics and reporting for decision making
- You will derive insights through querying, cleansing, analyzing, and presenting internal and external data. When data is unavailable, you will create insights to fill gaps in available data (conducting surveys, competitive research, and other creative means)
- You will support WMS Strategy and Digital projects as business insights lead including identification and delivery of analyses and visualizations to support decisions (may include internal data analysis and external industry research)
- You will be the team expert in data and data sources, including connecting information from across internal network of legacy systems, new systems, vendors data/reports, and external data
- You will help manage technology planning across Wealth Management including coordinating budget submissions, developing budget and spend analyses, and support socialization with key stakeholders
- Additional analyses and support as needed (e.g. business case development, competitor profiling, gap analyses)
Qualifications
- Experience with data and analysis (knowledge of statistics required, data science preferred)
- Excellent data visualization skills including highlighting insights and synthesizing trends for senior leaders
- Excellent communication skills including executive-level presentations (PPT) and emails
- Strong data sourcing, cleansing, and analysis capabilities (Excel skills are required, while SQL, VBA, Python, Tableau are a plus)
- Exhibited ability to bring structure and organization to complex analyses or processes
- Track record of going above and beyond to learn new tools and techniques
- Preferred experience in wealth management, financial services, or consulting in a related industry
- Curious and passionate about data analysis, decision making, and Wealth Management trends
- Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes accountability for projects and works collaboratively with others to achieve success
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Bachelors/Undergraduate degree required
