Primary Physical Work Address: 1881 Pierce St. Lakewood, CO 80214. This hybrid position is partially remote work, via workfrom home arrangements) with as needed in office visits with client groups.

Description of Job
This position is located in our Lakewood Office and is responsible for website maintenance and development for the Department’s digital platforms including but not limited to, CDOR external websites and the CDOR Google based Intranet employee portal. Responsible for developing web design that will establish and deliver consistency in voice, quality, usability and customer service throughout the Department’s digital platforms including but not limited to CDOR external websites and the CDOR Google based Intranet employee portal. This position must support and guide department staff in the creation of new webpages and features that enhance the current platforms. Utilize and provide analytics to analyze content performance and track campaign success in order to develop data driven strategies for CDOR digital platforms. Share recommendations with the Communications Director and Division leadership in regard to new strategies. This position will also lead efforts toward ADA accessibility on all digital platforms for the Department of Revenue.

Decision Making and Strategic Planning for the Website

  • Coordinating with all Communications staff members to understand business needs.
  • Participate in all team meetings to understand communication priorities for digital platforms.
  • Propose content and layout for all divisional websites to SMEs, Communications team and management as applicable.

Website Management

  • Maintain the CDOR’s websites, in partnership with the webmaster, with oversight of DMV, Taxation and SBG sites.
  • Maintain and provide strategic oversight of the intranet under the direction of the Deputy Communications Director.
  • Provide insight from Google Analytics monthly to staff.
  • Host and facilitate meetings with content editors and mini site administrators as applicable.
  • Participate in Colorado Interactive Super User meetings.
  • Understand website best practices and share industry standards with the communications team on a regular basis.
  • Understand Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium.
  • Utilize Site Improve daily for reports on immediate corrections required on the websites.

Training and Quality Control of Additional Web Editors

  • Checking and approving any content created by non-communication staff web editors. Recommending to non-communications staff web editors better UI/UX practices for their content.
  • Making additional editors aware of any new policy changes, or best practices related to, ADA compliance for the web sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the qualifications:

OPTION 1:

  • 5 years of experience in providing public information through digital and print
    communications channels. .

OR

OPTION 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in i.e., Communications, English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, Public Relations) or a closely related field as determined by the Department.
  • 1 years of professional experience in providing public information through digital and print communications channels.

OR

OPTION 3:

  • Additional appropriate education in (i.e., Market Researcher, Webmaster, Digital Media Campaigner, Social Media Specialist, Technical Writer). will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred applicant will possess the following:

  • Content development and translation of collateral, forms and information for stakeholders.
  • Communication support and copy writing.
  • Additional years of experience working with current communication channels (print, website, video, email, blog, social media, direct mail, media relations) and experience tailoring “voice” across channels and audiences.
  • Strong written communications skills.
  • Basic graphic design skills or experience with layout for newsletters, flyers, postcards.
  • Professional reports, and social media content.
  • Experience with website content management Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to collaborate with
  • Communications team, Department Division subject matter experts.
  • Experience providing information in compliance with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA).
  • Ability to work independently and accept supervision.
  • Proven success organizing and tracking workload.
  • Experience in editing, maintaining or designing websites.
  • Experience in HTML coding.
  • Strong applied knowledge in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance.
