Development and Community Affairs Associate

The salary range for this position is $40k-$50k annually

Job Brief: The Development and Communications Associate collaborates with the Assistant Director on
fundraising initiatives including special events, individual giving, and community outreach. The Associate
will assist with the agency’s broader development and communications needs. The role is integral to the
organization’s sustainability and continued growth of its philanthropic funding sources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the agency and all special events vendors.
  • Coordinate the agency’s grassroots fundraising events.
  • Develop new ideas for generating fundraising revenue for the organization.
  • Solicit auction items for all appropriate events.
  • Research, identify, and solicit potential partners (e.g., individuals, corporations, etc.).
  • Draft communications to be sent to QSAC supporters related to events.
  • Manage the agency’s social media in close collaboration with the Assistant Director ensuring regular and relevant postings across all channels.
  • Develop and maintain agency’s communications calendar.
  • Coordinate the gift acknowledgement process for the department.
  • Enter all donations and ensure proper recordkeeping including tracking for any reports.
  • Represent the agency at community-based networking events.
  • Nights and weekends may be required, but are scheduled in advance.
  • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
  • Complete required QSAC orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Special events and/or fundraising experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • MS Office knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable engaging with diverse constituencies.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities and deadlines.
