Deputy commercial manager

Job Description

The Deputy Commercial Manager will be responsible for administering the Rail Systems construction contract on behalf of the Resident Engineer and the Owner. The Deputy Commercial Manager will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the technical, project controls and engineering teams, as well as the Resident Engineer and the owner’s construction management team to ensure that the maintenance of a cohesive and consistent approach to the Owner and to the Contractor. This role will be site based and will require sporadic job site visits and inspections. The Deputy Commercial Manager will have primary responsibility for the following tasks:

  • Administration of Owner- and Contractor- initiated changes under the Contract
  • Preparation of cost estimates, and commercial analysis associated with Contract Changes
  • Interpretation of the Contract requirements to establish merit for Changes
  • Experience with construction of electrical or rail systems projects

Candidate Specification

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management/estimation
  • 5+ years’ experience in large construction projects with an electrical bias
  • 7+ years’ experience in commercial management of large construction contracts with an electrical bias
  • Experience with Rail is preferred

Salary Range: $80,000 – $135,000
