State of Idaho Opportunity
Salary: Salary $90,000 to $105,000 DOE – Full state employee benefits package which includes 11 paid holidays, sick leave, compensatory time for work in excess of a 40-hour week, low-cost downtown parking, and PERSI retirement, plus options for medical/dental insurance, wellness program, 401k, deferred compensation program, and pre-tax flexible spending accounts for qualifying childcare and medical expenses. The office is a qualifying employer for purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).
Primary Duties: This position handles work for the Department of Insurance. This position works with other DAGs and a Paralegal assigned to the Department of Insurance. Duties include providing advice and counsel to the Department staff regarding the Idaho insurance code, case law, rules, and regulatory standards, federal insurance law and standards, and the various lines or types of insurance, insurance issues, licensing requirements, and administrative law procedures; taking cases to the district court or to hearing; working independently or with colleagues and Department staff in legal cases or proceedings.
Requirements: Two years of legal experience preferred. Must exhibit strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be a member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar or eligible for admission on reciprocity.
