Demand Manager

Reporting to the AG Materials Director the Demand Manager will be responsible to understand and control demand signal volatility, increase inventory turns, and improve customer service levels. This role will be responsible for the overall accuracy of the global Aircraft Group demand requirements. This position cuts across all sites and business sectors for the purpose of creating an accurate overall demand forecast. This forecasting is critical for strategic budget and profit forecasting.

Accountabilities:

1. This person will be responsible for tools that govern inputs to OEM operational demand, and to maintain the alignment and accuracy of that demand.

2. This role will be responsible for creating and implementing processes and tools (reports) that govern input to Aftermarket operational demand, and to maintain the alignment and accuracy of that demand.

3. This role will implement tools and processes that govern entry of independent demand above and beyond that forecasted for specific customer consumption. Subset areas of responsibility include safety stock and buffering for quality, capacity, transition, and service level support. This person will be responsible to control all exception demand including system entry.

4. This person will track the alignment of operational and financial forecast.

5. This role works directly with Business Sector leadership, program managers, contract administrators, material planners, engineers and finance to assure that budget and profit objectives are met.

6. This position is the subject matter expert for demand forecasting and is responsible to own associated processes, business documentation and training

Requirements:

1. Ideally, this position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. Alternative majors include Engineering or Business. Advanced degrees Business Management are considered desirable.

2. Experience in Materials Management is required. The incumbent should have experience that demonstrates a progression from routine planning to a position that involves master scheduling. Preferred candidates will have gained this experience working in a Moog materials organization.

3. Incumbent should have the ability to effectively communicate with, and influence, operating group staff, which is made up of many disciplines, at all management levels. This may also include communication with Moog customers.

4. Subject matter expertise of Material Management Systems, which involve the use of computerized systems, is required. Training and experience with the Moog Business System is desirable. The standard program understanding would include MRP and ERP logic.

The base pay range for this opportunity is $106,724.80 – $190,091.20 per year.
