Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis and understand existing business requirements
  • Build data mapping documents before coding with the provided requirements
  • Work independently and guide other new team members end-to-end from development to unit testing to UAT and production deployment/cut ensuring quality
  • Work independently in agile scrum methodology
  • Write SQL queries for any given problem statement
  • Work with cloud-native services like RedShift, Databricks, EMR, Glue ETL, Redshift, and Dynamo DB

Position Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in AWS Cloud, AWS IAM, Big Data tools, and technologies
  • Required skills: Spark
  • Nice to have skills: AWS Big Data, Redshift, Big Data, Databricks, and Apache Spark
  • Need to have a good understanding of cloud terminologies in AWS and have a good grasp of all basic AWS services (e.g. S3/IAM etc..)
  • Programming knowledge in Scala, Java, or Python (preferably Scala)
  • Good understanding of Spark concepts – RDD/Data frames/Datasets/Streaming and experience with coding in Scala is preferred
  • Any experience with Talend Big Data would be an added advantage

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $67,000- $87,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
