Data Analyst I (non-IT) (Remote, North Carolina Based)

The Data Analyst I works with cross-functional teams to gather and document reporting requirements and then designs, develops, implements and supports routine mission-critical reports that allow for successful evaluation of the quality components of Alliance Health. Incumbents also identify areas in need of enhanced reporting solutions and conduct quality assurance testing related to IT reporting, data integrity, and analyses.

This position is full-time remote, with the option to work in the office if preferred. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina and available to travel for onsite meetings in the Home office (Morrisville, NC), if needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

Analyze business activities to identify report and data requirements

  • Analyze business activities to identify report and data requirements
  • Develop report requests and business specifications
  • Conduct research through business specifications, contracts, journals, web resources, and in-person interviews to gain a better understanding of data requirements for projects
  • Validate data in reports and presentations with business owners and department/unit leadership prior to deliver

Ensure reporting is conducted in accordance with specifications and timelines set out in State contracts and other external mandates

  • Audit, develop, and document processes to accurately monitor data associated with contract performance measures, HEDIS measures, and program requirements
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure accurate data and processes
  • Assist the QM Department with any data assurance/integrity efforts required as part of larger quality activities, and with the completion and validation of state-required reports
  • Collaborate with department/unit leadership to develop processes and definitions for data collection and reporting details
  • Ensure that reporting activities are conducted in ways that correspond with externally mandated specifications
  • Quality checks at the creation of a record and during changes/activity such as quality of life surveys, incidents, transitions/location changes, new staff assignment, etc.
  • Cross referencing data sources including but not limited to internal and external databases: TCLD, JIVA, ACS, IRIS, CLIVe, NC Tracks, QOL data pull, SharePoint.

Develop reports, dashboards, charts and graphs for end users

  • Perform mining and evaluation via basic SQL queries and stored procedures and other reporting tools
  • Conduct in-depth data analyses and translate insights into intelligible recommendations
  • Produce ad hoc reports and data products for the business
  • Develop dashboards, charts, graphs, and analyses in various forms to analyze data in order for end users to utilize the data in meaningful ways

Develop and Maintain Documentation

  • Continuous monitoring of various databases to assure consistency and accuracy of data
  • Work collectively with data owners to address data integrity concerns
  • Manage Reporting Calendar as a primary responsibility

Collaborate with Departtment/Unit staff and external stakeholders on report and application development

  • Liaise with IT department on report development
  • Work closely with other Departments to enhance operations and automation of reports and processes
  • Partner with IT Department to perform quality assurance testing of systems and reports
  • Attend IT/Reporting trainings or meetings that are relevant to the above responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the NC Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) to assure report development is consistent with requirements

Manage Surveys

  • Manage administration of mandated surveys and deliver analysis of results to stakeholders.
  • Develop schedule of quality assurance activities: using TCLD, CLIVe, & NC TRACKS data

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Human Services, statistics, mathematics, computer science, business administration or related field, and one (1) year of experience in a data oriented environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Training Preferred:

Previous experience in a healthcare

Knowledge of housing databases and housing first principles preferred.

Microsoft certified training in the areas specifically support by this position preferred

Salary Range

$48,420.27 to 83,354.24/Annually

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
