Job Description

The Office of Human Resources is currently searching for a skilled customer service rep to be a Temporary Benefits Administrator to assist with Benefits Open Enrollment and future duties. This is a temporary role, with potential for permanent employment. While prior experience in benefits administration is preferred, we are willing to provide training to the right candidate who exhibits a passion for the role, possesses strong organizational abilities, and is eager to learn. As a Benefits Administrator, you will gain valuable exposure to the dynamic field of benefits administration and be an integral part of our team’s efforts to enhance the well-being of our employees.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, typing, phone communication, and standing and walking; frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending and reaching.

Essential Duties

Customer Service Duties:

  • Benefits Enrollment: Assist with the enrollment process for various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. Ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollment forms and related documentation.
  • Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs, eligibility, coverage, and claims processes. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that employee questions are addressed promptly and accurately.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate employee benefits data in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other related systems. Update records to reflect changes in employee status, coverage elections, and other relevant information.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Assist in ensuring benefits programs are in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. Prepare reports related to benefits enrollment, utilization, and other metrics as needed.
  • Assistance in Benefits Events: Support the planning and execution of benefits-related events, such as open enrollment sessions and wellness programs. Provide logistical support and assist with presentations as needed.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to gain a solid understanding of benefits programs, regulations, and processes. Stay informed about changes in benefits regulations and industry best practices.
