REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Customer Relations Specialist.

The Global Trade Development team is responsible for promoting Broward County as a premier travel destination through travel trade influencers including tour operators, international inbound operators, wholesalers, travel advisors, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) and airlines who serve travelers in key target markets. The Customer Relations Specialist (Global Trade Development Coordinator) will be collaborative, detailed oriented and tech-savvy in order to assist the global team effectively promote the destination to key clients and achieve annual organizational goals. This position will be responsible for supporting the team through maintaining positive relationships with local industry partners and connecting travel trade with local resources.

– Assist team with maintaining CRM and lead distributions.
– Assists with coordination of follow up and on-going communication with leads and key clients. Manages promotional inventory and shipping related to events, trade shows, appointments, and client requests.
– Coordinates and assists with hosting and leading client destination previews. Includes itinerary development, outreach and communication with local partners and guests/travel trade.
– Assist business managers with leisure-focused social media content and posting including featuring local partners, tradeshows and client events.
– Assists team with content development and promotion of travel advisor training platform and other sales platforms for client engagement and connectivity.
– Organize a digital filing system containing sales records.
– Represent Visit Lauderdale at trade shows and client events in destination and out-of-town
– Local and out-of-town travel required including evenings, overnights and weekends.
– Must be proficient at creating presentations in Canva and PowerPoint.

General Description:

Performs responsible administrative work maintaining sound working relationships between the agency and its customers.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires six (6) years of experience in customer relations, including two (2) years of experience dealing with major cruise lines, airlines, or other relevant business entities.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Preferences:

  • Two (2) + years experience in relevant CRM software
  • Two (2) + years experience with digital travel advisor training program software
  • Bilingual (English and Portuguese, Spanish, or German)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Maintains ongoing working relationships with various organizations and coworkers.

Promotes the agency at trade shows, attends meetings with existing/potential partners. Participates when requested in community outreach programs.

Reports potential hazards to appropriate agency management and Risk Management which could impact guests or workers.

Liaisons with taxis, vans and other vendors.

Responds to various requests/issues from partners and guests.

Recommends modifications to improve the agency and customer experience.

Researches and collect data annually.

Responds to inquiries from various partners and agencies.

Ensures elevators, escalators and other equipment are working properly. If not, reports to appropriate departments.

Identifies need for additional/new signage and request from Public Works.

Advises and coordinates with various customers, vendors and partners on a broad scope of operations, marketing and customer relations.

Performs related work as assigned.
