Critical Environment Program Manager – Business Operations

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Cloud Operations & Innovation Critical Environment Program Manager – Business Operations, you will perform a role in delivering the infrastructure and technologies for Microsoft’s online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1+ year(s) industry experience
    • OR 2+ years industry experience and college course work
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Data Center Critical Environment related functions

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years’ experience with critical environment maintenance and repair cost management
  • At least two years’ experience with industry program and project management skills
  • At least two years’ experience working with collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams etc.)
  • At least one year’s experience with reporting and data analysis systems & platforms (e.g. PowerBI)

Data Center Operations Management IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 – $154,100 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $102,700 – $169,200 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise related to financial controllership (accuracy, forecasting & compliance) of datacenter financials.
  • Assist in managing the financial and commercial aspects of site contracts including related PO and invoice reviews.
  • Prepare datacenter site spend management review materials including regular reporting and performance analysis of financials with a focus on improvement.
  • Assist with tracking datacenter Maintenance and Repair activities as necessary.
  • Facilitate and organize datacenter project development, execution, and record keeping.
  • Evaluate cost savings opportunities and recommend strategic projects for savings.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to contribute to workstreams for efficient processes, services, and solutions for Operations and Service Level Agreements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with datacenter field operations to ensure alignment and foster partnerships for business success.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, senior managers, and leaders about our programs and objectives.
  • Gather stakeholder impressions of services and programs, integrating this feedback into decision making.
  • Allocate and align resources to optimize the stakeholder and partner experience.
  • Develop and communicate to timelines with plans that consider potential obstacles and immediate + long-term consequences.
  • Review operational business processes and adjust as needed for efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Proactively communicate and address necessary trade-offs.
  • Regularly scan theenvironment utilizing various tools to help anticipate changes that could affect key programs and projects.
  • Effectively changes plans, goals, actions, or priorities to respond to changing situations.
