Credit & Collections Specialist I

The Credit & Collections Specialist I that supports our Corporate business has responsibility for performing a variety of routine customer credit communications with internal staff and external customers for the process of establishing credit limits and terms in accordance with standard procedures and company policies.

  • Responsibly manage sensitive / confidential information.
  • Adhere to existing department policies and standard procedures.
  • Adhere to month and quarter-end close deadlines.
  • May be asked to assist with training new employees.
  • Manage multiple Credit & Collections email boxes – compose detailed, thorough, and professional emails internally and externally.
  • Ability to field customer phone calls appropriately depending upon request.
  • Utilize case management functionality in NetSuite for customer account updates.
  • Make recommendations regarding credit approvals, limits, and terms after thorough analysis of customer’s credit report or established payment history.
  • Utilize 3rd party credit reporting site for verification of credit worthiness.
  • Thorough understanding of Order to Cash process – Receipt of Purchase Order > Sales Order > Invoice > Payment and how these relate to a collections process.
  • Must understand the importance of customer data integrity on a customer account and how it relates to the ability to collect.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service as needed regarding customer accounts.
  • Complete customer supplier set-up forms (Mesa as the Vendor.)
  • Responsible for all types of collections including over/short payments and delinquency.
  • Manage a collection’s portfolio that includes multiple subsidiaries and varying currencies.
  • Understand proper route and tone of escalation when communicating with customers regarding collections and account status.
  • Populate weekly aging report in Excel including manipulation of data and v-lookups.
  • Track collection efforts in both Excel and NetSuite
  • Research payments in on-line customer portals.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Accounting Degree: or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote)
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro

Compensation/Benefits:

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and compensation for this position. The package includes base salary, bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k/Match.

Salary Range for this position is $27.40/hr – $28.09/hr.
