Reporting to the Art Director, the Creative Projects Coordinator (CPC) is responsible for the planning, scheduling, procurement, and production of all creative projects that fall within the purview of the Marketing and Communications Department. The CPC collaborates with college staff across departments to deliver materials that meet the communication and marketing needs of the campus while maintaining a consistent identity through a variety of print, digital, and manufactured materials. This position will oversee all creative communications and projects and is responsible for the overall quality of internal and external publications produced on behalf of Marketing and Communications and other college departments. The CPC will contract print, design, and mailing service providers in the production of advertising and marketing materials.
- Facilitates the planning and production of publications, brochures, posters, flyers, mailers, display ads and web pages in conformance with the college’s strategic communication efforts.
- Procures appropriate marketing materials such as banners, pop-ups, water bottles, coffee mugs, and/or other similar products. Handles reservations, delivery, and retrieval of reusable marketing props; delivers gift collateral items to college collaborators as needed.
- Develops and maintains production calendars for print and digital projects to ensure project delivery that is on time and on budget. Assures timely delivery by seeking missing job components from collaborators to keep projects on schedule.
- Ensures the quality of work produced by the Marketing and Communications department. Attends press checks as needed. Tracks orders through production to delivery to the campus and the final client destination. Picks up and delivers as needed.
- Works with the director, art director, and advertising/media buyer to create and deliver advertising campaign assets.
- Schedules project launch meetings with campus collaborators.
- Prioritizes schedules.
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with in-house and contract designers, copywriters, illustrators, pre-press and press professionals, fulfillment companies, imaging services professionals, photographers, and specialty marketing companies to fulfill the college’s needs in the appropriate medium.
- Collaborates with graphic designers, contract printers, vendors and related service providers on behalf of the Department of Marketing and Communication
- Solicits bids from vendors for project fulfillment and supervises contract print, design, and mailing services.
- Manages mailing lists and mail distribution to ensure compliance and best value for college.
- Remains current with emerging technologies and software relevant to the Office of Marketing and Communications and maintains fluency with USPS mail design standards and regulations.
- Works with the art director on the application of college graphics, visual marks, and assets to promote a quality, consistent image and support the college brand.
- Acts as a resource for college departments and staff in the area of print publications, cost-effective mailing and branding.
- Schedule and oversee loan and return of HCC backdrops, banners, event parking, and other marketing materials.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Performs special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in print production, marketing, mass communications/advertising, or related creative or technical field.
- Experience as an account or project manager in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing proposals and estimates based on business and project requirements; ensure that project deliverables meet creative brief objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in print production, procurement, or print project management; experience producing magazines, brochures and a variety of print material; experience managing multiple contributors.
- Experience in print design, brochure and direct mail design and production, on-site press-proofing, photography, art direction, and image selection.
- Knowledge of desktop and web publishing software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of two and four-color printing, offset printing with hands-on pre-press production knowledge, and press proof reviews.
- Knowledge of scanning, color correction, and retouching.
- Demonstrated magazine, direct mail design and variable printing specifications to meet U.S. Postal Standards, marketing literature design, and pre-press traditional production and Adobe Acrobat (press and web quality) PDF production.
- Keeps abreast of design trends, technology advances and workflow processes; learns new technology and application software.
- Experience with editing design files.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals.
- Ability to supervise and direct the work of other creative professionals.
- Experience with Wrike project management software desirable.
