The Crane Operator Opportunity
Are you an outstanding NCCCO Certified Crane Operator with two or more years of experience operating various types of cranes, from stationary cranes to truck cranes? If yes, apply today!The Veev Crane Operator applies experience with and knowledge of lever and pedal controls, driving cranes to the worksite, setting up the manufacturer’s operator’s manual, daily inspecting the crane for safety, and operating the crane under general supervision. You are required to be able to lift and lower materials with precision and transport heavy equipment to worksites.
You are operating cranes efficiently, take ownership of all safety-related functions, maintaining the hoisting mechanisms and following company protocols. Ultimately, a top-notch crane operator sets and maintains a standard of accuracy and operates the crane according to verbal, written, or signal instructions!
What you’ll do at Veev
- The crane inspection by inspecting the crane to ensure its safety
- Inspecting surrounding areas to ensure job site safety
- Driving the crane to a worksite
- Wearing PPE safety equipment
- Maintaining the crane hoisting mechanism
- Using lever and pedal controls efficiently
- Operating cranes to lift, move or place equipment and materials
- Inspecting cranes and calculating capacities
- Medium boom truck path set up, service, and operate hydraulic booms that are capable of moving heavy loads weighing between 4.5 tons and 18 tons
- Wellhead boom truck path set up, service, and operate hydraulic booms
- Mobile crane path: service and operate booms that are mounted on either mechanically or hydraulically driven cranes, and are capable of lifting loads up to 13 tons or more
- Conventional mobile crane path: perform the same duties as the mobile crane path, but you will be limited to mechanically driven cranes
- Hydraulic mobile crane path: perform the same duties as the mobile crane path but are limited to hydraulically driven cranes
- And…When not operating the crane, assist with assembly of materials and more. This job will not be 100% crane operation. Successful candidates will be supporting other tasks as well.
Requirements, Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent safety, attendance, punctuality, dependability references
- Commercial A or B Drivers License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Required crane operator certification including rated lifting capacity
- Experience with remote controlled crane operations & current National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Crane Operator Certification for Articulating Boom Cranes (ABC)
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Knowledge of OSHA Regulations, and ANSI Standards in crane operations.
- OSHA 30-Hr Certification
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills
- Pass drug test, background, and medical check
- Experience with daily and monthly equipment inspections
- Compliance with an employer 3-Step process to “qualification”
- Continued training, maintaining certification or license, and evaluation
- Comply with company scheduled evaluations/assessments of existing knowledge and skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $38.00 – $48.00 hourly for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas. This role is also eligible for stock options, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, holidays/ paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
