Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working and skilled Corporate Paralegal to join its legal team. This position will play a critical role within the legal department, a high-energy group of legal professionals dedicated to exceptional client service, value, and trustworthy advice that enables and empowers the business. This position provides administrative and legal support to the litigation and risk management teams. We are seeking a professional with an executive presence to help ensure our team is premier.

This role will be predominately remote for candidates located outside of the Cary, NC area. There will be an expectation to come into the office periodically thought out the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide litigation support to attorneys managing a wide range of litigation, administrative and arbitration matters
  • Take an active role in matter intake by processing notices of claims and service of legal process, identifying relevant witnesses, gathering necessary documents, and collaborating with outside counsel to ensure all necessary information and documents are secured
  • Assist in the identification of relevant subject matter experts within the Company and the collection of information and documents from such individuals for use in cases
  • Assist attorneys with file maintenance, case management plans, calendaring, invoice and check processing and routine communications with internal clients and outside counsel
  • Review case budgets with attorneys and monitor budget against actual spend by matter
  • Review litigation processes and procedures, identify areas of improvement and obstacles to change.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain letters, presentations, checklists, reports, legal forms, templates, and other legal documents
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing and claims reporting
  • Initiate and manage litigation holds for formal demands, administrative agency charges and litigation
  • Maintain a database to track matters and prepare necessary reporting
  • Support implementation and maintenance of internal databases to run required reporting and publish quarterly dashboards for executive review
  • Assist with overflow projects and responsibilities in the Legal Department as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ prior experience in a corporate setting
  • Experience with claims preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented; ability to review and understand accounting or financial information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs, PowerPoint presentations and Adobe Pro

This role will be a hybrid role from our Cary, NC office.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $85,000 + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)
