We seek to hire a Contract Manager to support the Rail Infrastructure business in New York, NY. We seek individuals who have spent at least eight years in progressively responsible positions in an in-house corporate environment to provide contract management advice during public procurements and contract negotiations as well as throughout project execution and be able to efficiently explain contractual/commercial topics to the business partners and drive potential issues to a consensus decision.
Ideally, you have knowledge of Government Contracts and can negotiate and handle contracts of all types, support procurement, supplier contracts, construction, design contracts, and licensing agreements. You will have validated technical, organizational, and communication skills and have a proven track record. We operate in a highly regulated industry, and familiarity with federal regulations concerning DOT, FRA, and FTA is desirable.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Analyze, evaluate, and resolve diverse matters with government agencies, commercial customers, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors. Identify and assess the primary contractual risks, opportunities, requirements, and communication.
- Ensure all contracts accurately reflect business objectives and align with all state and local laws and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare contract concepts and defense strategies and implement project-related claim opportunities – communicate with supporting arguments and documentation.
- Consult with management and draft official correspondence towards public owners and suppliers/subcontractors promptly, transparently, and professionally.
- Monitor contract conditions and events (duration, consequences, losses), deadlines, landmarks, and contract-related correspondence.
- Defend against external claims by presenting relevant exonerative facts and documentation.
- Control all claim-relevant issues and the data administration in the project with aim to control and report progress and events to relevant partners.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Legal degree, Contract Management, and Project Management experience in public infrastructure, construction, or governmental contracts.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of practical work experience displaying your excellent writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills to participate in negotiations with clients, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors, and prepare sophisticated contracts and settlement agreements.
- Specialized skills and proficiency with project/program controls software and web-based program management systems.
- Familiarity with regulated industries.
- Familiarity with basic concepts in scheduling and delay/disruption claim analysis

The base salary range for this position in New York, NY, is $104,400 – $179,000. The annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary.
