Our Building Envelope group provides expert waterproofing and exterior enclosure services to Owners, Architects, and General Contractors. These services include plan review, specification review, mock-up review, onsite water testing, onsite inspections, etc.

Are you ready for an exciting challenge as part of our esteemed Project Advisory group? We are seeking a talented Construction Monitor to join our expanding division in San Diego, CA. If you thrive on working with high-rise commercial, educational, and hospitality structures, this is the opportunity for you. With contracts ranging from $10K to $500K and projects spanning from weeks to years, you’ll have the chance to gain valuable experience and enjoy significant financial growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough plan reviews, with a focus on Waterproofing and Building Envelope details, including specs, submittals, and RFIs.
- Occasionally participate in predevelopment/preconstruction meetings to provide valuable insights.
- Perform on-site inspections of waterproofing systems, documenting progress through detailed photography.
- Observe building assembly testing, both in mock-up and final construction stages.
- Utilize proprietary software (Inspec) to compile comprehensive technical reports.
- Support the training programs for junior staff, sharing your expertise and guidance.
- Oversee projects from start to finish, including plan reviews, inspections, and reporting.
- Review and research technical data and manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure best practices.
- Ensure all assignments are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism, meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking progress and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Promote safety as a top priority, both in-house and on-site, in alignment with corporate policies.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Ability to review and interpret architectural and engineered construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of building envelope systems and their application.
- Comfortable performing activities on construction sites, including working at heights and using ladders and scaffolding.
- Proven experience in delivering projects on-time and within budget.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, when interacting with superiors, co-workers, clients, and design teams.
- Willingness to travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities and project needs.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, construction-related field (e.g., architecture, construction management, engineering) preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to perform under high-stress conditions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in computer operations and standard software packages.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- OSHA-10 or -30 certification preferred.
Additional Information
The annualized salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000.
