We seek an NIU Construction Coordinator for our Kansas City, MO market.

As an NIU Construction Coordinator, you will ensure that customers get installed quickly by working with our vendors to build and remove roadblocks or find other ways to install a drop. This role will help us reach all targets and meet the company’s goals. This role will support our vendors, our build partners (pole owners, power companies), and our customers, to ensure all installations are to spec and on time.

NIU Construction Coordinator Description:

The Network Interface Unit (NIU) Build team focuses on the user. You will be a professional, experienced, and driven field associate, supporting the NIU drops program and vendor manager. This role will require you to have strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions and enhance operational performance by keeping a high-performing vendor operations team so that our fiber telecom client can get the best speed and efficiency in our last-mile deployment of OSP fiber. You will be a top performer and thought leader who will quickly adapt and respond to changes and internal initiatives and someone who thrives in an ever-changing, fast-growing operational environment. Effective management of relationships with external partners is vital in ensuring continued service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of the overall performance of the operations vendor workforce in terms of quality, cost, schedule, and customer service.
  • Coordinating the make-ready engineering and make-ready construction process for fiber service drops.
  • Perform construction ride-outs to support quality initiatives, troubleshoot issues, and perform constructability reviews.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Help to identify and eliminate roadblocks to the service drops installation process.
  • Provide technical advice and insight on improvements to existing operations based on solid industry expertise in FTTH (Fiber To The Home) projects.
  • Assist in the scheduling of NIU service drop work.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve quality, cost, schedule, and customer service issues.
  • Resolve escalations originating from both internal and external sources.
  • Ensure service drop installation tickets are properly assigned, tracked, and resolved.
  • Oversee the collection and management of as-built documentation.
  • Interface with other vendors that impact service drop operations. Assist in the creation of planning and reporting documentation. Ensure vendors follow contractual terms and conditions.
  • Contact customers to help remove any installation roadblocks.
  • Site Survey to determine drop placement utilizing tools mapping tools (FMS)
  • Coordinate MR and Tree Trimming with Vendor and verify work is completed to allow completion of drop work.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Three years of experience with FTTH infrastructure.
  • Experience constructing new outside and inside plant (OSP/ISP) fiber infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3-GIS, and AutoCAD drafting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of BOM creation, including material research for different markets and OSP architectures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Google G-Suite, including drive, docs, sheets, drawing, and presentation.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
    Intermediate working knowledge of Google Earth/Maps.
  • Exemplary communication skills with excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to represent projects from business, product, and technical perspectives.
    Excellent time management.
