PSE’s IT Application Solutions team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Adv App Development Analyst position!

Job Description

In this role, you will lead the overall development of a large ServiceNow implementation, as we build out new functionality on a clean platform that was recently re-factored to use out-of-box capabilities wherever possible. We want to keep it that way for easy upgrades, and leverage test automation to build up a solid regression suite, as the next step in our agile journey. Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance our ServiceNow implementation, as the technical leader of our Platform team, with functionality spanning ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, ITBM and SecOps areas.
  • Ensure that we appropriately leverage of out-of-the-box functionality, to protect the ability for performing mandatory SaaS upgrades in a cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, application/infrastructure owners, and business stakeholders on all aspects of our business roadmap, technical development, and integration with other systems, advising management on overall implementation priorities and strategies.
  • Identify and lead other opportunities to deliver enhanced business value with ServiceNow.
  • Participate in a 7×24 on-call support rotation for this mission-critical system.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience, and at least 6 years of experience in related field.
  • 6+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • Detailed understanding and 6+ years programming (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) and strong knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with at least four full life cycle implementations of a new application or purchased application.
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for medium to large-sized projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems.
  • Strong communication and analysis skills, with the ability to negotiate solutions that meet customer needs while leveraging the technical capabilities of the underlying platform.
  • Broad knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and its architecture, including licensing, security models, and the use of scoped applications.
  • Significant experience with ServiceNow ITSM, ITAM, ITBM, ITOM, and SecOps applications, including development using Angular HTML, Javascript, JSON, and XML.
  • Broad knowledge of the ITIL framework
  • Experience with collaborative development using Agile, Scrum, and/or DevOps methodologies
  • Experience in a utility or other highly-regulated environment. Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance is a bonus.
  • Customer centric focus with demonstrated ability to apply insights to meet customer technology needs and improve IT maturity
  • Proven experience working independently and/or in a team environments to deliver on initiatives
  • Ability to drive for results to deliver against commitments, and hold yourself and others accountable

The pay range for this position is $106,700.00 – $187,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
