Job Description

Pay Grade: K
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Handles operations of a unit, develops and administers policy, procedures & plans, assists in employee selection, budget preparation and performs special projects as delegated. Conduct investigations to obtain evidence of reported fraud, abuse, or violation of rules, regulations, or statutes, or locate missing persons

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, the Compliance Investigator Supervisor:

  • Manages the performance of the Compliance Investigator I, Compliance Investigator II, and Compliance Investigator III positions.
  • Reviews all prosecution referrals associated with an intentional program violation in the SNAP, TANF, and/or Child Care system.
  • Reviews federal interceptions and state offsets related to any delinquent overpayments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three (3) years of related law enforcement experience, One (1) year of which is experience as a supervisor.

OR

  • Associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five (5) years of directly related experience, Two (2) years of which is experience as a supervisor.

OR

  • Five (5) years of directly-related experience in the area of assignment, Two (2) years of which is experience as a supervisor.

OR

  • One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Compliance Investigator 3 (PSP082) or position equivalent.

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver’s license. Note: Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification or eligibility.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:

  • Three (3) years professional investigative experience at the Investigator II or III level.
  • The ability to network with DHS offices as well as law enforcement agencies in planning, developing and implementing investigative procedures relating to public assistance fraud investigations.
  • Proficiency in the use of software programs (i.e., Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Graphic Presentation packages).
  • Excellent knowledge of Food Stamp, TANF and Child Care Policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead team projects.
