We believe in a collaborative, in-person, one-to-one approach; working together with the student to identify personalized strategies for academic success. Our tutors find ways to guide students in their studies by engaging them in instructional strategies specific to their individual needs. We meet students where they are to get them where they want to be.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively and comprehensively deliver subject matter tutoring
- Facilitate tutoring sessions for the prescribed subjects at the agreed time and location
- Review homework as necessary
- Work with the student to close any learning gaps or enhance understanding in subject areas
- Provide additional practice work to ensure a thorough understanding of topic/s covered
- With parent’s permission, communicate with student’s teacher if required
- Submit a session report for our office and families after each tutoring session within 24 hours of said session
- Assist student with executive, organizational, and study skills to improve their time management and project management capabilities
- Stay on top of student’s grades in their online portal or however school sets up their grading procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Education, or specific subject, prefer teaching certification. Would consider Senior Ed major soon to graduate, in transition looking for FT teaching position wanting to earn extra income in a flexible, part time capacity.
- Strong knowledge of the subject matter
- Experience with basic data entry
- Flexible, caring, patient personality suited for different learning styles
- Reliable transportation with valid auto insurance
- Access to the internet, computer, and cell phone
Compensation:
$28 – $30 per hour depending on qualifications and the student’s needs.
