Work is performed under supervision to assist with developing, planning, marketing, and implementation of recreational, cultural and educational programs for Dallas citizens at the City’s recreation centers.

Essential Functions
Essential Functions

  • Assists with planning, developing, and organizing activities for Park and Recreation facilities including handling reservations and building maintenance.
  • Performs administrative tasks including functions related to the collection and reconciliation of funds and financial records.
  • Coordinates seasonal programs and activities such as athletics, sports, arts, crafts, drama, physical fitness, music and aquatics.
  • Assists with the recruitment of volunteers including adults, youth/youth groups and special events volunteers.
  • Assists with enforcing the City of Dallas Park rules and ordinances to ensure the safety of the staff and citizens.
  • May supervise or train volunteers and/or seasonal employees.
  • Serves as a liaison between the assigned recreation center and the community, schools, churches, businesses and other social groups and agencies to promote programs, facilitate fund raising efforts and allow for cooperative endeavors.
  • Assists with expanding city awareness of service level offerings to increase programs awareness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

  • 4 years experience in recreation program development, implementation, and facilitation.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED
