Data Analyst

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Analyst insupport of our Defense Agency customer.

We provide Department of Defense data to Federal and State agencies, Congress and researchers.

The analyst needs to understand data exceptionally well to make sure we provide the correct information to our users. This includes understanding their requirements along with being able to technically provide the correct data. We are primairly using ANSI SQL in an AWS Cloud environment.

Must be U.S. Citizen and must have active/current DoD Public Trust Designation, Secret preferred

This is NOT a database administrator role. This is a hands-on Data Analyst.

What you will do:

  • Strong ANSI SQL skills along with the ability to convert legacy reports to SQL
  • Analyzing current output and legacy code (often in SAS) to reverse engineer the logic needed to produce the report.
  • Strong data analysis skills to quickly understand the reports and how to validate the logic
  • Exceptional investigative and documentation skills

Qualifications

  • BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS+6
  • Strong SQL skills. Need to know how to write complex SQL queries while also knowing how to create maintainable code.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written) to deliver the technical insights and interpret the data reports to the clients.
  • Able to comprehend and translate complex and advanced functional, technical and business requirements into executable architectural designs.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and managing requirements and demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working in and with MS Office tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD position of Public Trust clearance (required to start)

Desired Experiences:

  • Department of Defense data knowledge or experience.
  • Ability to organize material and complete writing assignment according to established standards regarding clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
  • Data bricks or AWS S3 experience
  • QLIK experience
  • Python
  • Certification: Security+CE preferred

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $40,000
Salary Mid: $80,000
Salary Maximum: $100,000
