Community Associate

Major Responsibilities
• Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform responsible work for Prospect Park special events.
• Monitor, coordinate and inspect permit activities, including individual and group permits, athletic events, large special events, film shoots, concession stands and ball field activities.
• Assist staff and customers with permit-related functions including permit processing and event information.
• Provide and improve community services at Prospect Park and Parade Ground; perform related work.
• Communicate with various departments within and outside the agency for support services.
• Track equipment and maintain accurate records of inventory.
• Perform difficult and responsible clerical operations.
• Provide information and interact with the public in office and park settings.

Minimum Qual Requirements

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” above.

Preferred Skills

1.Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
2.Strong writing, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
3.Excellent customer service skills.
4.Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
5.Valid New York State driver license.
