CALSTART has an immediate 6-month paid internship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Communications & Marketing Initiative. This position will support the MarComms team and report directly to the Deputy Director of Digital & Creative. Our intern will play an important role in supporting the overarching MarCom administration for contractors, billing, and project management requests.
Additionally, the Communications & Marketing Intern will:
- Engage with a wide variety of internal project staff to support the preparation of promotional material.
- Perform market analysis and research for competitive analysis in the industry.
- Assist with organizing various workshops, events, forums, presentations, and webinars.
- Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM).
- Support marketing and outreach activities including email and social media campaigns, website and content development, and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support project teams with daily administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, auditing tasks, and updating files or databases.

Qualifications:
- Completed at least three years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or other related fields.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and social media reporting tools.
- Proficiency in project management across various stages of development and implementation (planning, execution, monitoring, and completion).
- Knowledge or interest in transportation electrification industry
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in internal and external teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced remote work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum commitment of 20 hrs/week
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior work/internship experience with different marketing techniques.
- Familiarity with marketing computer software’s and online apps (ex. CRM tools, Online analytics, Google AdWords, etc.)
- Familiarity with environmental justice or clean transportation.
