Here’s a summary of responsibilities:

Team USA is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented teammate to join the Team Behind the Team for a six-month fellowship. In this role, the fellow will be working on a variety of projects across external, employee, athlete and NGB communications to help accomplish the USOPC’s mission.

Here’s how you’ll have an impact:

  • Play a key role in building awareness of the Olympic and Paralympic movements in the United States assisting in a variety of communications led projects and media campaigns.
  • Support athlete and NGB communication needs, educational support and public relations outreach.
  • Assist in developing employee communications materials including presentations, company announcements, newsletters and more. Support the development and day-to-day management of an internal communications request platform to best serve USOPC functions and departments.
  • Assist in copy writing, editing, design support and file remediation for internal and external communications and publications to meet USOPC style and brand guidelines.
  • Assist in building and managing distribution lists for key stakeholders, including those for media, National Governing Bodies, athletes, staff, partners and more on Salesforce.
  • Support website updates and enhancements on TeamUSA.org.
  • Support media pitching and facilitating interview and content capture requests for USOPC staff, internally managed NGBs, and athletes at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Centers.
  • Assist in planning and development of USOPC communications events, including Team USA Media Summit, NBC/USOPC Promotional Shoot, Assembly, Hall of Fame, NGB Communications Workshop, town halls and more.
  • Work closely with internal NGBs to provide support across websites, social media channels and event coverage.
  • Assist with various key campaigns, research projects and other duties as assigned.

Here are the skills and experience you’ll need to be effective:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Six months to one year of experience in corporate communications, sports and/or entertainment public relations

Here are some things that will make you super competitive for this role:

  • Familiarity with Olympic and Paralympic movements preferred

Here’s where you’ll work:

  • This is a hybrid role that will regularly work from both our Colorado Springs Downtown Headquarters and remotely.

Here’s some more information you need to know:

  • Hiring Pay Range: $17.34 to $20.38
  • This is a full-time, temporary, non-exempt position intended to work 40 hours per week.
