The Collaboration Scientist – Structural Heart Diseasewill have responsibility to manage clinical and academic researchcollaborations within the Clinical Affairs and Scientific Evidence Division -Cardiology, Ultrasound Organization. Research is focused upon driving evidence generation fromcollaborations, clinical trials, and enhancing partnerships with external keythought leaders and luminaries.
This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional,looking for the next step in their career. As a Collaboration Scientist -Structural Heart Disease, you will be responsible for:
Research and Development:
- Scientific expertise fordeveloping research collaborations.
- Remain current with published literature andclinical results for strategic purposes.
- Promote continuous dialogue with collaboratorsto identify opportunities for collaboration on research topics and to translatethese into project proposals.
- Provide scientific feedback and advice tointernal and external partners regarding our technologies.
- Work directly with collaboration partners andresearch staff at luminary academic institutes.
- Compile data and write project results, whileperforming statistical analysis and using statistics to develop studyendpoints, sample size, etc.
- Provide oversight of investigator-initiatedresearch studies.
Collaboration Management:
- Contribute to study development and start-upprocess including reviewing protocols, drafting of IRB packages, consent forms,designing and/or reviewing CRFs, writing collaboration contracts, executingcollaboration contracts, preparing volunteer Informed Consent forms, developingstudy documents, organizing, and presenting at investigator meetings, whileworking with management on monitoring strategy.
- Negotiating and finalizing contracts forexecution with support from legal, regulatory and compliance.
- Ensure that all study related documents aretracked, filed and reviewed, and complete according to SOPs, regulatoryrequirements and protocol.
- Administrative and logistical tasks, includingtracking, collecting, distributing, and filing study documentation.
- Ensure collaborations are on track for siteinitiation, subject recruitment and enrollment, as well as close-out.
- Clinical trial execution and monitoring.
- Work with management team to define timelines ofmilestones, deliverables and data.
- Design reports and metrics that are usefulmanagement tools for projects.
- Adapt to collaboration archiving tools and workwith cross-functional teams and tools to ensure payment of milestones anddeliverables.
- Monitor activities at clinical study sites toensure adherence to GCP, ICH, SOPs, FDA guidelines, study protocols, andinternal collaboration controls including compliance.
Your Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.D. or higher degree in Cardiology orrelated disciplines.
- Expertise in structural heart disease,interventional procedures and imaging.
- 5+ years of experience in working with clinicalresearch experience in med tech industry, health care or pharmaceutical.
- At least 4+ years of clinical monitoringexperience or clinical trial experience.
- Experience in working with clinical and academicresearch environments.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical trials and thecritical elements for success in clinical trials.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, as well asknowledge of clinical research and scientific principles.
Your Attributes and Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industryenvironment with deadlines and deliverables.
- Ability to create databases of study variables,organize data, perform statistical analyses, and chart data.
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Word,Excel, database, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Power BI and analytical software(i.e. SPSS).
- Responsible for multiple projects and must workboth independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizationalabilities, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent team player with team building skills.
- Strong customer focus and collaborative.
- Ability to independently define and meet projectrequirements.
- Willing & able to travel, as required (up to50%).
The pay range for this position is $118,000 – $130,000annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-relatedknowledge, skills, and experience.
