Job Description
Johnson County Mental Health is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Case Manager Assistant in their Children and Families program. They will work as part of a team to provide group and individual support to children, ages 3-18, with (SED) severe emotional disabilities both at the Center and within the community (school and home). This position will remain open until filled. Job duties include the following:
- Works one-on-one with the youth and family to provide the services needed to resolve issues and stabilize behavior – some examples would include teaching the youth skills necessary for successful relationships, implementing strategies with the youth and family for school success and working on developing independent living and self-sufficiency skills.
- Facilitates Psychosocial Groups on a variety of topics including: problem solving, social skills, leisure time training, health and personal relationships.
- Provides crisis interventions as necessary, which may including physical intervention and restraint to ensure the safety of the child.
- Transports individuals receiving services to appointments and activities.
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working in a human services field are required. Requires a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Education can substitute for experience.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
