Description
We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel’s engineering and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and reliable individual with a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of all equipment and systems
- Supervise, develop and maintain ongoing maintenance operation for hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/H units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
- Meet with architects to discuss blueprints, contact contractors to submit bids for new construction, and meets with construction supervisors to discuss different phases of work.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, including scheduling, staffing, and budgeting
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify any maintenance or repair needs
- Oversee the installation and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the hotel
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
- Manage relationships with vendors and contractors
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Job Skills:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc. Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct grammar and well-modulated voice.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to understand the technologies required in the work you are directing.

Requirements
Education
- Vocational Institution Certificate and completion of apprenticeship in plumbing/electrical repair.
Experience
- 2 years supervisory experience in the maintenance field and 3 years experience in the plumbing, electrical, and painting trades; OR, an equivalent combination of educ. & experience.
Salary Description
$40,000 to $50,000.00 annually
