Gannett Fleming is actively recruiting highly motivated Senior Inspectors for positions in Connecticut. As an engineering inspector, you will experience exceptional training and career development opportunities, allowing you to understand dynamics unique to being in the field as part of the construction management function. At the same time, working with experienced field engineers on challenging construction projects.

Gannett Fleming is seeking a Chief Inspector on bridge and roadway projects. This entails reporting to construction sites to ensure the contractor’s work aligns with contractual obligations. The key responsibilities include observing and documenting the contractor’s activities, maintaining comprehensive project files and documentation, accurately calculating quantities of work completed for monthly contractor payments, and maintaining regular interaction with clients. Additionally, the position requires the ability to effectively supervise inspection staff and coordinate project activities, correspondence, and communication with the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate and timely Daily Reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive Project Progress Reports.
  • Monitor and oversee Quality Control Testing.
  • Perform precise measurement of quantities.
  • Keep track of Contractor Schedules.
  • Prepare Payment Applications and facilitate Change Orders.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient Project Filing System.
  • Assist in conducting Constructability Reviews.
  • Address and resolve technical issues encountered in the field.
  • Act as a proficient Team Leader, guiding and coordinating team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with ConnDOT on roadway and bridge projects.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of ConnDOT regulations, procedures, and requirements and a familiarity with documentation and reporting processes and programs.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Completion of OSHA Safety Training.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
