- Ensuring safe operations by identifying and resolving unsafe acts and conditions within the unit.
- Support running EPO’s to qualify the new products.
- Resolving operational difficulties and providing technical problem solving capability to eliminate production of nonconforming materials.
- Debottlenecking production to increase run rates and achieve targeted production costs.
- Developing and implementing capital projects (as assigned) to support improvements
- Managing the rework process for non-conforming, aged (slow moving) and/or obsolete materials.
- Drafting/reviewing new unit MI’s to provide clear and concise instructions for the safe operation of the new equipment.
- Tracking and communicating key unit performance measurements including yields, costs, reliability, production and quality metrics.
- Supporting ISO, RCMS and VPP requirements in the unit and becoming certified as internal auditor.
- Working with maintenance supervisor to support elimination of reoccurring equipment problems.
- Designing and documenting screw profiles to provide optimal product run rates and physical properties.
- Participating in setting up workflows to facilitate production at higher rates.
- Supporting development and deployment of unit strategic vision.
- Serving as subject matter expert for at-line training to reinforce good manufacturing practices.
- Streamlining work processes to optimize utilization of operations resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor Chemical Engineering with 2-5 years manufacturing experience. For new graduates some internship experience in a manufacturing setting if preferred.
