This Catering Coordinator/Events Supervisor is responsible for managing incoming catering orders, seeing through the planning process to the successful execution of the event as well as following through with accurate reporting when the event has concluded.
This is considered a full time benefits eligible position. The starting salary range for the position is $18.63- $22.82 per hour.
Some of the hours worked could also qualify for hourly shift differential rates
- Hours worked between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m: an additional $1.50/hr
- Hours worked between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m: an additional $3.00/hr
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Receiving, tracking and communicating with all stakeholders regarding each catering order with efficiency
- Professional and consistent communication with customers while maintaining department policies and guidelines
- Outline equipment needs, staffing needs, timing, signage and all details required to execute event successfully
- Maintain Middlebury College Drivers license to support catering delivery
- Develop and maintain strong understanding of all software systems utilized in the department
- Manage time and resources responsibly and independently
- Contribute to continuous improvements and evolution of the team
Position Prerequisites:
- Transferrable skills like communication, leadership, problem solving, teamwork, creativity, multitasking and critical thinking are all valuable skills that we value and the right candidate can be trained in the art of food service.
- Associate’s degree in food service or equivalent experience in food services or catering preferred but not required.
- Flexibility with both schedule and duties is essential.
- Computer and office equipment proficiency required.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Office, Oracle HCM, Excel,web site management skills, Catertrax and 25 Live pro preferred.
- Must gain and maintain VT DLC (Department of Liquor Control) certification, Middlebury College drivers license (van, gator and box truck), and PCI compliance.
- Collectively 3-5 years prior experience in food services or catering and administrative experience preferred.
- Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.
